It's Public Higher Education Week in Massachusetts
The week will be capped with the first "Friends of Public Higher Education Dinner" on Friday, April 4, at the InterContinental Hotel in Boston. Net proceeds will be used to create scholarships for students attending public higher education institutions in Massachusetts, with a particular emphasis on public service, according to the state Board of Higher Education.
Two Public Higher Education Leadership Awards will be presented at the dinner. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy will be recognized for his efforts and advocacy on behalf of students over his four decades in the US Senate, and John Fish, CEO of Suffolk Construction, for his support of capital needs at the campuses, the BHE says.
