Now playing on Massachusetts air waves, an ad commissioned by Working Massachusetts about collective bargaining rights:
(SFX: Fire engine siren) They’re our firefighters.
(SFX: Hospital emergency personnel/blood pressure machine) … Emergency personnel.
(SFX: Police dispatcher) … Police officers.
Working hard – all across Massachusetts.
We’re faced with tough budget decisions – forced to do more with less.
We’ve all got to do our part.
But what we CAN’T do is take away the bargaining rights of the men and women working on the front lines.
That’s NOT how we do things in Massachusetts.
We’re the cradle of liberty. Home of Sam Adams. John Adams. The original New England Patriots
We stand up for democratic values – we don’t take rights away.
Unfortunately, some people are actually trying to take away the right of working families to collectively bargain for affordable health insurance.
We can stop that. And work on common-sense reform.
It’s time for our state legislators to stand with our firefighters, police, and teachers – to protect collective bargaining rights – for all of Massachusetts.
Paid for by Working Massachusetts.
