Task force report is blueprint for revitalization of higher education

Statement of MTA Vice President Anne Wass:

The Senate Task Force on Higher Education is to be commended on its comprehensive and judicious report. Its recommendations are not only a blueprint for the revitalization of our public colleges, community colleges and University; they are also a blueprint to help revitalize our state's knowledge-based economy. The Legislature should act on the Task Force recommendations -- and act positively -- as soon as possible.

All who care about the future well-being of our Commonwealth owe thanks to the Task Force – its co-chairs, Sen. Steven C. Panagiotakos (D-Lowell) and Sen. Stanley C. Rosenberg (D-Amherst), and its members, Sen. Robert A. Antonioni (D-Leominster), Sen. Steven A. Baddour (D-Methuen), Sen. Robert A. O’Leary (D-Barnstable), Sen. David Magnani (retired), Sen. Joan M. Menard (D-Somerset), Sen. Mark C. Montigny (D-New Bedford) and Sen. Bruce E. Tarr (R-Gloucester).
