Health Insurance Alert

Two years ago the state budget changed health insurance premium shares from 75/25 for new employees and from 85/15 to 80/20 for all employees making over $35,000 with the promise that in the fiscal ‘06 budget the premiums would return to 85/15.

Representative Marty Walsh (D-Dorchester) is carrying the amendment to "sunset" this law and return the premium to 85/15 as promised. 

Debate on this budget amendment will take place within the next few days.

Action Needed

Call or e-mail your state representative and let him or her know that state employees gave up millions of dollars to help the fiscal crisis in the state in return for a promise that the health insurance premium would return to 85/15.
 
It is not fair to break this promise.
