Higher ed creditable service bill is law

Higher Education members with previous "contract" or so-called "03 service" will now be able to purchase up to four years of that service as creditable service toward retirement.
 
SB 2462 was signed into law by the governor on July 19 and is now Chapter 161 of the Acts of 2006.  The law goes into effect in 90 days (October 19, 2006).
