About the MTA Web site

The massteacher.org Web site has been designed with our 100,000 MTA members in mind. We understand that educators are busy people and that you come to the Web site with specific tasks in mind:

The site's new navigational structure has been designed to help you find the answers to those questions. And an enhanced search system should make is easier and more enjoyable to browse around and find items of interest.

The  Managing Your Career section has information for members at all stages of career development -- student teaching through retirement -- as well as special interest sections for higher education members, Education Support Professionals and those new to the profession. A section on Certification and Licensure will help all members through the maze of state regulation.

Teaching and Learning features the latest news in educational research, notices of conferences, workshops and grants, and links to Internet sites with classroom tips and resources.

MTA on the Issues will keep you current on the hot topics in education. Our three premier issues (MCAS, ESEA and Bilingual Education) will be joined later by topics such as Charter Schools, Vouchers and Special Education.

Looking to influence these debates? Visit the Advocating for Public Education section for information on MTA's legislative programs and links to contact your state representative or senator.

MTA Leaders (local association presidents and MTA board members) will find news and documents essential to their role in the Leaders section.

We welcome your comments and questions as we continue to develop this site. Please contact Megan Secatore, Web Content Manager, 617.878.8228, or by e-mail, msecatore@massteacher.org.
