Springfield unions bring their protest to Boston

Hundreds of Springfield municipal employees and their supporters demonstrated on Boston Common April 30, to protest the actions of the Romney-appointed Finance Control Board, which is running the city, and to ask for increased state aid.

The demonstrators brought an invitation to the governor to "Come to Springfield."

  • See the damage to our city that your Finance Control Board appointees are causing.
  • Speak with Springfield residents who are enduring dangerous reductions in essential city services.
  • Listen to Springfield municipal employees, who have not had a pay raise in three years yet continue to give them their all.

Demonstrators included members of several Springfield unions, including police, firefighters, teachers and school paraprofessionals.
