ESP Leaders for Tomorrow applicants sought
Applications for the 2009-2010 NEA ESP Leaders for Tomorrow program are now available.
According to the NEA, "Leaders for Tomorrow will train both current and future leaders in leadership attitudes, skills and knowledge that will enhance their ability to be a visible, vocal advocate at the local, state and national levels of the NEA." The first session will be held July 22-26, 2009, at a location to be determined. The second session will be held November 13-15, 2009, in Washington, D.C., and the third session (which includes attendance to the NEA ESP National Conference) will be held March 7-14, 2010, at a location to be determined.
Please note that all applicants must have a letter of acknowledgment signed by the State Affiliate President or Executive Director. This letter is not an endorsement of the candidate, but rather an acknowledgment by state affiliate leadership that they are aware of who is applying. No applications will be accepted without this acknowledgment letter.
Leaders for Tomorrow is open to any MTA - NEA ESP member -- from K-12 and Higher Education -- who is currently an ESP member and who has been an NEA member in good standing for at least the last three years. Information about Leaders for Tomorrow will be posted on nea.org as well as on the NEA's ESP Listserv.
