More help is needed to get MTA higher ed contracts funded

Calling all MTA higher education members! More help is needed to get the higher education contracts funded.

Please take a moment to e-mail your legislators to urge them to act on our collective bargaining agreements. Ask your legislators to tell House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Murphy, D-Burlington, and House Speaker Robert DeLeo, D-Winthrop, to pass a supplemental budget bill that includes funding for all of the MTA higher education contracts.

These contracts were agreed upon and ratified by the members of all of the MTA higher education unions after a long and protracted struggle. These are modest contracts that reflect the economic times in which we live, and they should be funded.

The MTA is committed to getting these contracts funded as soon as possible. Please help us spread this message throughout the Legislature by calling and e-mailing your own state representative and urging passage of a supplemental budget that contains our collective bargaining agreements.
