What do students need from our schools?
Public schools in Brookline and other communities throughout Massachusetts have an excellent reputation – but we still face challenges. Hear teachers, students and parents share some of the challenges they face and what is working in our public schools.

Should ballot questions dictate how your child is taught?
Organizations of non-educators funded by wealthy individuals and corporate foundations – such as Stand for Children – are playing an increasingly prominent role in shaping education policies. Questions addressed will include: Who is behind Stand for Children? What is the binding statewide ballot initiative that Stand is promoting?

What is the role of teacher unions?
Myths and facts about the role of unions in public education in Massachusetts will be addressed. Participants will be encouraged to share their views and to discuss where we go from here to help all students succeed.
