Members urged to help Springfield students on testing issue

Timothy Collins, president of the Springfield Education Association, has asked MTA members to contact their legislators to request them to support home rule legislation filed by the city of Springfield to delay the administration of MCAS tests until April.

The reason for the legislation is to give students in Springfield more time to prepare for the MCAS tests because of the significant instructional time lost in this MCAS cycle as a result of a tornado and other severe weather conditions that hit the city. Messages to your state legislators can be sent via the legislative action center on the MTA website.
