Arguments in the MTA challenge to the Stand for Child petition can be viewed online

The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court will hear arguments in the MTA challenge to the Stand for Children ballot initiative on Tuesday, May 8 at 9 a.m. A webcast will be aired at the time of the arguments and be archived online at http://www.suffolk.edu/sjc/.

The lawsuit, Flynn vs. Coakley, filed by the MTA on behalf of seven different plaintiffs, asked that the initiative petition be barred from the November ballot on the grounds that it violates the state constitution.

The initiative is opposed by a long list of organizations. For further information on the Stand initiative, please visit www.massteacher.org/stand.
