Your input requested: Teacher Leader Endorsements

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is seeking input on Teacher Leader Endorsements as part of a Career Ladder for Teachers. Historically, most teachers have had few opportunities to advance in their careers while remaining in the classroom. Through the Race to the Top Career Ladder for Teachers project, DESE seeks to create opportunities for teachers to take on specialized roles and responsibilities in recognition of excellence in teaching, contributions to schools, and skillful collaboration with colleagues. In order to create a Career Ladder for Teachers, DESE has committed to developing endorsements, which will be optional certifications that a teacher could add to his or her license.
 
DESE invites you to review and comment on the definition of proposed endorsements. This updated list reflects feedback already received from the field. Your feedback will be invaluable in crafting clear definitions of endorsements that represent the best thinking of the field.
