American Statistical Association hosting workshops in Boston in August
The American Statistical Association is holding two statistics workshops this summer in Boston aimed at strengthening knowledge and teaching of data analysis and statistics in the Common Core State Standards (for middle and high school math and science teachers) and AP statistics curriculum (for experienced AP statistics teachers).
Meeting Within a Meeting (MWM) Statistics Workshop for Middle- and High-School Mathematics and Science Teachers, August 5 and 6, 2014, Boston, MA
This workshop is meant to strengthen middle and high school mathematics and science teachers' understanding of statistics and provide them with hands-on activities aligned with the Common Core State Standards they can use in their own classrooms. Presenters include Christine Franklin, Rob Gould, Katherine Halvorsen, Patrick Hopfensperger, and Jerry Moreno, The cost of the workshop is $50, though half the registration fee will be reimbursed for the first forty teachers who register and attend the workshop. ASA plans to also offer limited parking fee reimbursement. Optional graduate credit is also available.

Beyond AP Statistics, August 6, 2014, Boston, MA
This workshop is for experienced AP Statistics teachers and consists of enrichment material just beyond the basic AP syllabus . Presenters include Allan Rossman, Beth Chance, Tom Short, Robin Lock, and Jim Cochran. The registration fee is $50, which includes materials and refreshments. Optional graduate credit is also available.
