The MTA is engaged in anti-oppression work across the union. This space connects members to committees, resources, and actions statewide—offering pathways to learn, reflect, and take action as we build collective power to dismantle oppression in our schools, unions, and communities.

Racial, Social and Economic Justice Initiatives

The MTA is engaged in anti-oppression work on multiple fronts. This space is meant to bring those initiatives together so members can easily access committees, resources and actions taking place throughout the state. Whether you are just starting to learn about oppression or want to be more actively engaged, there are several pathways forward. Use these resources to help you learn, reflect and connect with people and take advantage of programming available to you. Building our power will prepare and equip us to dismantle oppression within our organizations, our local unions, our schools, campuses and communities.

Visit Transformative Pathways for lesson plans, films, books, racial and social justice organizations, articles, excerpts, tools and frameworks.
