MTA members, two females, standing out for the schools our students deserve.

Our Members

The MTA Proudly Represents Educators from Across the Commonwealth
MTA members support students in every role and responsibility, in Massachusetts public schools, colleges and universities.
In countless ways, MTA members advance the cause of public education. See how they share their time, energy and expertise to help all students and educators succeed.

Aspiring Educators

SEAM, or the Student Education Association of Massachusetts, provides future teachers with opportunities for professional development and networking.

Education Support Professionals

Education Support Professionals keep students healthy, safe, supported, engaged and challenged so they are ready to learn. It is difficult to imagine a school operating for one day without ESPs.

Higher Education

MTA higher education members work on the Amherst, Boston and Lowell campuses of the University of Massachusetts system, at nine state universities, and at 15 community colleges. They include faculty, part-time and continuing education faculty, administrators, librarians and support staff.

PreK-12 Educators

MTA membership includes nearly 94,000 preK-12 educators. They are classroom teachers and specialists who work with students in public schools across Massachusetts.

Retired Members

MTA retirees are a powerful, organized force for change – winning key statewide victories and continuing to advocate for human and civil rights and strong public education.

We need to protect our students and our educators. If it means fighting back in courts, then that’s what we need to do.

Standing Up for LGBTQ+ Students and Educators

Resources to protect our LGBTQIA+ students and educators.

Professional Learning

MTA provides high-quality professional development and union education for members and leaders. Through in-person and online training, tools, and resources, educators gain the skills and knowledge they need to grow professionally and strengthen our union.
