Board of Directors

The MTA Board of Directors is responsible for the general policies and interests of the MTA, is subject to policies established by the Annual Meeting of Delegates and derives its authority from the MTA Bylaws.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is responsible for the general policies and interests of the MTA. Committee members are subject to policies established by the Annual Meeting of Delegates and derive their authority from the MTA Bylaws.

NEA Directors

Detailed information on the composition, election, terms, meetings and powers and duties of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee may be found in the MTA Bylaws and the MTA Policy Book.

The MTA proudly represents locals and chapters from Pittsfield to Provincetown.

MTA Divisions

The MTA represents 117,000 members in approximately 400 local associations. MTA members are teachers, faculty, professional staff and Education Support Professionals working at public schools, colleges and universities.

Bargaining Strength

Bargaining is the powerful tool we use to demand fair wages and benefits and create the workplaces we deserve. Members within each local define the priorities they want to achieve through bargaining, and the grievance process gives us the ability to enforce our workplace rights.
