MTA Bargaining Summit 2026

Bargaining the Future of Education: Uploading the Dignity of Our Labor

Saturday, November 7
Courtyard by Marriott Boston Marlborough, 75 Felton Street, Marlborough
Registration: 8-9 a.m. | Summit: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. | Social: 4-5 p.m.

MTA locals continue to demonstrate what's possible when members are deeply engaged in negotiations through democratic bargaining strategies, such as expanded bargaining. Across the state, locals are making meaningful gains on key issues, including paid parental leave, stronger health and safety protections, and improved salaries and wages.

The 2026 Bargaining Summit will examine how robust regional and sectoral strategies can strengthen our ability to navigate the consequential issues shaping public education and the statewide bargaining landscape today. Through campaign discussions and interactive sessions, we will explore how we can:

  • Strengthen our preK-12 funding fights and local campaigns to win transformative contracts.
  • Continue coordinating across Higher Education to win Fair Wages Now.
  • Protect the future of public education by defeating the big business/ed tech AI agenda.

Bring a delegation of your bargaining and contract action team leaders, as well as other member organizers from your local. Come prepared to share what's working, strengthen connections with sibling locals, and put strategies into action.
