Given her track record as attorney general — fighting against gun violence, making pharmaceutical companies pay for the harm they’ve caused, shielding student borrowers from predatory lenders, and preserving the dignity of retirees — we can count on her to be a leader in the fight for a more racially and economically just Commonwealth. The education experts — the 115,000 members of the MTA — look forward to working with her as we seek to ensure living wages for everyone, bring an end to the great harm caused by high-stakes testing in our schools, and achieve fully-staffed, debt-free public higher education throughout Massachusetts."

For the first time, Education Support Professionals had their own day of solidarity building and collaboration at the MTA Summer Conference. Held on a Sunday, because so many ESPs are forced by low wages to work additional jobs, the day encouraged members to reflect on their strengths and challenges as union members.
