Beginning in fiscal year 2026-2027, the standard local grant portion of the PR&O grant program has been streamlined into the All In grant program. PR&O grants will no longer be available to individual locals as the All In grant has been revamped to better accommodate those needs. Individual locals seeking organizing funds may apply for an ALL IN grant here.
The Public Relations/Organizing Campaign Committee supports MTA organizing and coalition-building efforts and promotes the activities and successes of educators and public education at all levels. The committee is comprised of MTA members who meet about five times per year to consider grant applications. The committee works with the MTA Executive Committee to provide grants that help improve the image of public educators and serve as a positive force in the association’s public relations efforts.
MTA-affiliated groups such a bargaining councils, committees and task forces are eligible to apply and are encouraged to anticipate their funding needs well in advance as the turnaround time from submission of application to committee consideration and award can take several months, depending on the committee’s schedule.
Please note, if a grant includes funding for printed items or apparel, union vendors must be used. Additionally, any apparel items must include the MTA apparel logo.
The deadline to submit an application for consideration by the PR&O Committee at their next meeting will be posted here once set. Applications received after posted deadlines will be held for a future convening of the committee.
