Retiree Speakers Series

The Retired Members Committee hosts a speaker series on the first Wednesday of each month, providing opportunities to learn and connect.
Join MTA retirees each month for the MTA Retired First Wednesday Speaker Series. Each month on the first Wednesday. These sessions, held on the first Wednesday of each month, feature speakers discussing a range of issues.

The MTA Retired First Wednesday Speaker Series is a great opportunity to connect, learn, and engage with fellow MTA retirees. These virtual sessions are held on the first Wednesday of the month from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

There is a different topic each month with knowledgeable speakers – including MTA leaders, policy experts and fellow members – who share insights, updates, and practical tools. Participants can deepen their understanding of current challenges, gain new skills and stay active in advocacy efforts that support students, schools and educators across the Commonwealth.

Beyond learning, the speaker series offers a space to reconnect with colleagues, build community and continue contributing your voice and experience to the ongoing work of strengthening public education.

First Wednesday events are scheduled on October 7, November 4 and December 2, 2026. Sessions are online from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
