Wisdom Warriors

The Wisdom Warriors are MTA retirees who provide support, solidarity, and encouragement to local unions across the state. With over 200 members ready to respond, they bring energy, humor, and friendship while advocating for public education and MTA-sponsored legislation.

The Wisdom Warriors is a statewide program of the Retired Members Committee of the MTA. We provide solidarity and encouragement to locals in need, demonstrate union solidarity, and engage in friendship and fun while supporting MTA sponsored legislation and our broader mission to champion public education. While frequently injecting song and humor into otherwise challenging situations, the particular manifestation of our solidarity varies according to the issue, the circumstance and the local members’ needs.

  • We get called into action upon the request of local presidents. You can contact us at [email protected]
  • We have 200-plus retired members throughout the state, with regional coordinators ready to jump into action when called upon.
  • We may be retired but we are always ready for union solidarity!
  • To call for help or join Wisdom Warriors email us at [email protected].
